Study: Mobile Will Have a “Huge” Holiday Season

Mobile commerce sales are expected to nearly double this year, according to new data from BrightEdge. The SEO platform provider analyzed data from hundreds of retail brands, including the top 10 retail companies, and deduced that mobile is set to have a huge holiday season this year.

Consider the following: From Q1 to Q3 mobile has experienced a 50% growth in traffic, a 26% growth in conversion rate, and a 12% growth in average order size. In addition, trust in mobile and tablet retail is getting stronger—the average smartphone order size grew from $139 to $151 from Q1 to Q3, and the average order sizes of smartphone, tablet, and desktop retail are now within 10% of each other.
