Statlistics takes management of large publisher American Media files

Statlistics has formed a new partnership with publisher American Media Inc., bringing 14 new lists to the list manager.

AMI is one of the largest consumer magazine publishers in the country with health titles like Shape, Fit Pregnancy, Natural Health, Looking Good Now, Muscle & Fitness Hers and Men’s Fitness.

“We chose Statlistics because they are known for their multi-title publishers with niche specialties,” said June Steinfeld, consumer-marketing director at AMI, New York.

“Because they are a smaller list management company, we felt they would be able to provide that extra attention that I feel our lists need.”

AMI also publishes tabloids like The National Inquirer, Star and Country Weekly. It also reaches the Hispanic market through Spanish language celebrity magazine Mira, which publishes weekly. The Globe, National Examiner, Weekly World News and Sun are among AMI’s newsweeklies.

Ms. Steinfeld also said that magazines are facing a lot of challenges these days because of the postal increase. “People are mailing less,” she said. “People are moving to the Web.

“We believe Statlistics can help us to overcome these challenges,” Ms. Steinfeld said.

Statlistics is very excited about managing AMI’s files.

“Our strategy here is to continue to promote to AMI’s core markets, which include health and fitness buffs and people who read celebrity news,” said Rita Verna, the AMI account manager at Statlistics, Danbury, CT. “In addition, we plan to expand into different markets through a deeper selection availability.”

The base price for all fourteen files will be $100/M.

In the past 7 years, AMI has grown to become the 4th largest consumer magazine publisher in the country, and No. 2 in retail magazine sales. It publishes 6 of the top 15 best selling weekly newsstand titles in the country.

“For us this is a great opportunity for more exposure into the consumer market,” Ms. Verna said.

AMI works with advertisers such as Ford, Unilever, Campbell’s, Subaru, EAS, P&G, CMT and GMC.
