Standard Chartered Bank Selects Protagona

Recognition Systems Inc., Chicago, announced yesterday that Standard Chartered Bank, Hong Kong, has licensed Protagona, its customer experience management software.

Standard Chartered is an international bank focusing on established and emerging markets of Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. It has a network of more than 500 offices in more than 50 countries.

This marks Recognition Systems’ first foray into the Asia-Pacific market.

“We’re moving away from product-centered marketing in favor of a customer-centric paradigm, which Protagona clearly embodies,” said Steven Parker, head, customer information, group consumer banking, Standard Chartered Bank. “Protagona’s integration of behavior modeling with campaign management was of particular interest to us and was a key reason we chose this solution,” he added.

He also said the bank anticipates expanding its Internet presence in the future, and Protagona’s e-mail capability would complement those efforts.

“This agreement adds to our already strong presence in a wide variety of financial applications and demonstrates our ability to meet the needs of a global financial player,” said Bryan Black, CEO of Recognition Systems.

Protagona will be implemented in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.
