Stamps.com Debuts Latest Version Today

Stamps.com, Santa Monica, CA, is expected to announce version 3.0 of its service today with added features for printing stamps and tracking mailings.

The new version lets businesses print postage onto a plain sheet of paper that they can then tape to a package. With the previous 2.5 version, customers had to print postage and an address directly onto an envelope or three-part labels purchased from Stamps.com or office products stores.

The new version also lets customers bundle a Delivery or Signature Confirmation option from the U.S. Postal Service onto the label and lets customers receive a discounted USPS rate for these services.

Previously, customers had to enter a 25-digit number from the Delivery Confirmation form to track packages. With the new version, “they could just go to that record and in one click check the status, and it would tell the customer if the package was delivered or not,” said Kyle Huebner, vice president of marketing and strategy at Stamps.com.
