SpotMixer powers video in AdWords

Google AdWords users have a new option for creating in-stream video advertising now that SpotMixer’s self-serve video ad creation platform has been integrated within AdWords’ In-Stream Video Ads.

The new deal, officially being announced today, enables AdWords users to create 15- or 30-second in-stream video ads using SpotMixer’s do-it-yourself ad creation tool. Videos can be distributed on YouTube or Google’s Content Network as pre-, mid- or post-roll ads.

“This will enable advertisers to get even stronger performance from video advertising,” said Baljeet Singh, Google product manager for video monetization, in a statement.

According to eMarketer, US spending on Internet video ads is expected to reach $2.1. billion by 2011 and $4.1 billion in 2013. It is currently the fastest-growing segment of online display ads.

SpotMixer’s service automatically converts an advertiser’s existing AdWords text ad into a tailored video ad within the advertiser’s AdWords account. Users can customize their ads with photos, video and voiceovers.

SpotMixer’s technology was integrated into Google TV Ads in January.
