Speaker: Time Is Right for International Mail Campaigns

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — Now is a good time for U.S. marketers to conduct international direct mail campaigns, Rainer Hengst, vice president of Deutsche Post Global Mail, said in a session at the Mailcom 2002 Global Conference & Exhibition here yesterday.

Foreign mailboxes have less clutter, he said, though global direct mail volumes are growing.

The economic climate in Europe is not as bad as in the United States. “Our recession is not a worldwide phenomenon,” Hengst said, adding that there is a global wave of good will toward the United States following Sept. 11.
