Sony Corp., Tokyo, said yesterday that some personal data from customers who had ordered Playstation2 on the Sony Web site was leaked. Apparently, some customers used passwords to gain access to information such as names, addresses and the amount of game consoles ordered. The company said 266 orders were compromised. Information like credit card numbers and telephone numbers were kept in a separate database and was not leaked.
