Qtrax, a peer-to-peer music network, has reached an agreement with Sony BMG Music Entertainment that will allow the network access to Sony BMG’s music catalog.
Qtrax users will now have access to Sony BMG’s catalog of recordings a predefined number of times.
Every time a track is played a click-to-buy option will be displayed.
Thomas Hesse, president of global digital business and U.S. sales at Sony BMG Music Entertainment, said the company looked forward to building new opportunities for artists within the digital marketplace.
Allan Klepfisz, president/CEO of Brilliant Technologies, said this was a great way to encourage consumers to sample and purchase music and make it a good tool against piracy.
