Online pharmacy Soma.com, Seattle, which sells prescription drugs and other health and beauty items directly to consumers through its Web site (www.soma.com), yesterday announced that it has sealed an agreement calling for McKesson HBOC Inc. to be its exclusive supplier of pharmaceutical products. Also, McKesson, San Francisco, has installed automated prescription-fulfillment technology that it said would increase the efficiency and accuracy of prescription refills and allow Soma.com to fill 5,000 prescriptions and 5,000 over-the-counter products per day. Soma.com operates a call center and distribution center in Westchester, OH, that provides next-day delivery to most states. McKesson HBOC is a major drug distributor and a provider of technology for the healthcare industry.
