SkyGo, OmniSky Team for Ad Programs

Wireless marketing company SkyGo and OmniSky Corp., a provider of wireless applications and services, have formed an alliance to provide content publishers with targeted wireless advertising programs.

OmniSky, Redwood City, CA, will refer its content partners to SkyGo's wireless marketing services. “OmniSky will be able to help our content partners deliver wireless advertising that adds value to a consumer's wireless experience and generate revenues, both for content providers and for OmniSky,” said Kristine Stebbins, vice president of marketing at OmniSky.

OmniSky content partners include Yahoo!, E*trade, The New York Times, CNET.com and CBS MarketWatch.

As part of the agreement, SkyGo, San Francisco, will integrate OmniSky's Os OneTap technology into its advertisements. The technology allows wireless device users to save selected ad information, such as addresses and event details, to their devices. “This functionality gives advertisers the ability to deliver marketing messages in a way that maximizes the unique characteristics of the wireless medium,” according to a SkyGo statement.

The technology generates multiple ad impressions by creating persistent exposure on the user's device; however, users can still choose which ad messages to save, according to SkyGo.

The company recently debuted SkyGo MAP, a platform that creates, delivers, tracks and reports on wireless advertising, transactions and rewards programs. Procter & Gamble, Visa and ESPN.com are a few of the companies using the technology.
