Sites on postal

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers said it may approve dot-post Internet addresses for postal agencies as early as this month. The initiative was proposed by the UN Universal Postal Union in March 2004 in an effort to instill trust for the Web sites for government postal agencies. If the suffix is approved, the UPU would assign domain names to individual national agencies, which could then distribute sub-domains to contractors and other service providers. The UN agency also could assign names directly to mail-related industries, including direct marketing.
