Sichler Returns as DM News Publisher

Ron Sichler, former publisher of DM News and a well-known figure in domestic and international direct marketing circles, has rejoined Courtenay Communications as publisher of DM News and vice president of sales and marketing for the company's direct marketing division.

Sichler has spent more than 30 years in newspaper and magazine publishing, serving in sales, sales management and marketing positions for The New York Daily News, The New York Post, Crain Communications and Cowles Business Media. During his previous affiliations with Courtenay Communications, the company launched a number of products and achieved a high degree of growth and success with DM News.

Sichler's appointment follows a recent announcement that the company's Internet marketing title, iMarketing News, would be consolidated into DM News as a weekly section. As part of the consolidation, 10,000 unduplicated names from iMarketing News have been added to the DM News file, bringing total circulation to 50,000.

“DM News has been the market leader in the DM field for many years, but with the addition of the iMarketing News editorial and circulation, it's a stronger editorial product and a better advertising medium than ever before,” Sichler said.

In addition to merging the two print editions, the company also merged the iMarketing News Daily e-mail newsletter with DM News Daily. The combined newsletter features a new four-color design, a new “Today's Lists & Databases” section and is produced in HTML format. The company's weekly newsletters, CRM Weekly and E-Mail Marketing Weekly, also have been re-released in the four-color HTML format.

Similarly, DM News'Web site has absorbed the iMarketing News Web site. DM News.com also features a new section of mailing list releases titled “Lists & Databases.”
