Shop At Home Carried on Primestar

Shop At Home Inc., the shopping channel in Nashville, entered a carriage agreement with Primestar, the direct broadcast satellite company in Bala Cynwyd, PA, that took effect Oct. 1.

The DBS provider reaches 2.2 million subscribers, making it the second-largest satellite company after DirecTV. The Primestar agreement is Shop At Home's first arrangement for carriage on a DBS system. The channel reaches 15.5 million full-time equivalent homes.

“The Primestar agreement enables us to reach a growing segment of television viewers that has not previously had access to Shop At Home programming,” said Kent Lillie, president and CEO of Shop At Home, in a statement. “We are hopeful that DBS households will prove to be a viable new channel for the continued expansion of our broadcast distribution.”
