Sheet Music Site Picks Up Elton John Hits

Musicnotes.com has acquired the digital rights from Warner Bros. Publishing to offer the sheet music of 26 songs by pop star Elton John.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The site, www.musicnotes.com, is featuring such Elton John songs as “Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road,” “Daniel,” “Bennie and the Jets,” “Candle in the Wind” and “Crocodile Rock.”

In addition, Musicnotes' catalog includes 10,000 other titles from artists such as George Gershwin, Garth Brooks, James Taylor and 'N Sync. Musicnotes, Madison, WI, said more songs will be added to the site in the near future.

The company's Musicnotes Player technology allows Internet viewers to hear and print sheet music. After downloading the player, a user can change the tempo of a piece in order to practice it at any pace. In addition, symbols on the music page are linked to encyclopedic explanations.
