Sharper Image Corp.'s total revenues plummeted 24 percent during the fiscal third quarter, which ended Oct. 31.
The total for the quarter was $77 million compared with last year's $101.1 million, which was a 68 percent increase over the prior year's third quarter.
Catalog sales fell 11 percent to $22.8 million from last year's $25.5 million, which represented a 43 percent increase over the previous year. Internet sales plunged 29 percent to $9.7 million from last year's $13.7 million, which was a 158 percent jump over the previous year's third quarter. When auction sales are excluded, Internet sales dropped 15 percent during the third quarter.
Total store sales fell 28 percent to $41.8 million compared to last year's $58.2 million, which was a 68 percent increase above the prior third quarter. Comparable store sales fell 36 percent while the total during the prior year's third quarter had increased 66 percent. When sales of Razor Scooters are excluded from the totals, comparable store sales fell only 1 percent.
