SES launches search training in Toronto

SEO-PR and Incisive Interactive Marketing will offer a social media relations and press release search engine optimization training class at the Search Engine Strategies Conference & Expo 2007 in Toronto.

Greg Jarboe, president/co-founder of SEO-PR, will teach one of the four half-day search training classes at the Intercontinental Toronto Centre Hotel on June 11, the day before the SES 2007 event opens.

Incisive Media received positive feedback on its search training classes in San Jose, Chicago and London and decided to expand SES Toronto to include a day of dedicated intensive workshop training.

These classes can be taken in addition to the conference or independently. The added training day has been created to provide attendees with guided, hands-on exposure that puts theory into practice.

The social media relations and press release SEO training class is for managers and professionals in SEO firms, PR agencies and communications departments.

During the first part of this workshop, participants will be able to conduct keyword research to find two to three relevant news search terms that their target audience is likely to use; make sure their releases actually includes their target terms – particularly in the headline and first few sentences; add hyperlinks intended to help people find interesting, related content, when applicable; use press release distribution services crawled by Yahoo News, AOL News and Google News; and measure results of their campaigns – whether their objective is to build brand awareness, increase Web site traffic, generate sales leads or sell products online.

During the second part of this workshop, participants also will learn how to use new social mapping tools to identify the most influential bloggers in their market and old media relations techniques to engage these bloggers in productive conversations. They also will see case studies featuring blogger relations success stories from The Christian Science Monitor, MarketingSherpa, WindowsSecrets.com and The Wharton School.

The Search Engine Strategies Toronto conference runs June 12 and 13.
