Service Delivers Web Management Tools

Atomz Corp., San Francisco, yesterday unveiled a Web content management service for Webmasters at large marketing and publishing firms.

Atomz Publish allows Webmasters to create templates that allow technology novices to make changes at a Web site. Public relations directors can go onto a client's site, for example, and change content in press releases without knowing anything about Web design.

Webmasters can control who is permitted to make changes at a site. A designer could be authorized to change fonts but not product lists. Webmasters also can receive reports listing what has been updated at a site and who has made the changes.

The product is a hosted service in which clients receive a secured Web page where they can connect to their sites and use the Atomz technology.

System requirements for inhouse users include Internet Explorer or Netscape. Pricing starts at $50,000. For an additional charge, Atomz offers a search engine that adapts to Publish. When new content is put on a site, the search engine automatically adds the information to its database.
