Sears cuts 200 positions

Sears Holdings Corp. has said it would cut approximately 200 jobs from its support center locations after a review of the organization. The news comes on the heels of other recent announcements such as CEO Aylwin B. Lewis leaving the company at the beginning of this month and that Sears would revise its organization structure and operational model.

“As we’ve previously stated, Sears Holdings’ results have not been satisfactory and because of that, as part of a continuing process, we are assessing our business priorities, cost structures and organization and when and where necessary we will be making adjustments,” is the company’s official statement, which was received from spokesman Chris Brathwaite via e-mail.
