Save the Children Breaks PSAs Using Sally Field, Lennon's 'Imagine'

Save the Children broke a multimedia public service announcement campaign yesterday using actress Sally Field and John Lennon's “Imagine” song to draw attention to Gulf Coast children affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

The ads, created by social marketing shop PlowShare Group, ask Americans to imagine a better world for displaced children, urging them to take action to help. Agency Carat Fusion distributed the print, television, radio and online spots to coincide with Lennon's 65th birth anniversary.

Save the Children seeks long-term support to help children from mostly poor, rural communities recover from the hurricanes. The nonprofit (www.savethechildren.org) runs literacy and nutrition programs in more than 90 of the poorest rural communities nationwide.
