The San Diego Padres selected Smart Button, a developer of loyalty marketing software and rewards programs, to create and support an advanced loyalty campaign to give the baseball team’s management insight into fans’ interests, habits, trends and buying behavior.
Smart Button announced the deal Aug. 14.
The Padres named the program Compadres Rewards Club, and it will let the team reward its most loyal fans, reinvigorate lapsed fans and attract new ones.
Fans earn points by swiping their card at any Compadres Club Rewards Center, located throughout PETCO Park. There, fans can get an up-to-the-minute profile detailing their purchase history, points earned and more promotions from the Padres. They also receive daily coupons that offer savings on items around the ballpark. The more the fans use these kiosk-issued coupons, the more the team learns about their buying patterns and personal preferences. This helps customize offers, rewards, discounts and promotions to each fan.
Smart Button, Newark, DE, develops loyalty marketing solutions and rewards programs for the sports, entertainment, gaming and retail industries. Its software is used in 500 facilities in the United States and Canada, and 2.5 million patrons are enrolled in Smart Button’s database.
