Samsung offers Google products through select mobile devices

Samsung and Google Inc. announced a global cooperation to give mobile phone users worldwide access to Google products and services directly from their Samsung mobile phones.

Consumers will be able to search information, find locations and manage their email on the move.

Google’s philosophy is that competition is ultimately good for the marketplace, driving innovation and helping make the mobile Web experience a compelling one for users,” said a Google representative. “In the last year and a half, we’ve signed deals with dozens of industry leaders in the mobile space and released a wide variety of innovative mobile products and services.”

Beginning in early 2007, selected Samsung phones will be provided with Google search, Google Maps for mobile and Gmail.

Samsung has already launched, the Ultra Edition 13.8, which is the first mobile handset installed with Google mobile search and Gmail services.

The slim 3G Z720 is only 13.8mm in thinness, is HSDPA ready, and comes with a 3-megapixel camera, MP3 Player, and Bluetooth connectivity.

The HSDPA connectivity combined with an Internet browser and Google mobile services will provide users with a rich mobile Internet experience.

Future models also will be Google-ready.

“Going into 2007, we will continue to develop innovative mobile products and work with mobile industry leaders, with a goal of helping more people access more information in more ways,” the representative said.
