Sales Up 43% at PC Connection

PC Connection Inc., a direct marketer of computer products, announced that net sales increased by 43.5 percent, to $174.3 million, for the second quarter ended June 30, compared with $121.5 million for the same period last year.

The growth in net sales was attributed to an expansion and increased productivity in the telemarketing sales group; growth in Internet sales at the PC Online SuperStore (www.pcconnection.com); an 18.6 percent increase in the average order size, to $600; and an increase in the number of PC and Macintosh catalog mailings.

“As in the past, we successfully tailored our product mix and pricing to meet the growing demands of our core target market of small- and medium-sized business customers,” Patricia Gallup, chairwoman/CEO of the Milford, NH-based company, said in a statement. “This strategy led to solid increases in unit sales of notebook computers, desktop computers and servers, which more than offset industry-wide declining average selling prices.”

The company will release full second-quarter result the week of July 27.
