Sable Gets No. 2 Spot at Wunderman, Will Focus on Global Clients

Wunderman New York president/CEO David Sable was promoted yesterday to vice chairman and president of Wunderman's worldwide operations.

In this position, he will provide strategic counsel to the agency's global clients including IBM, Citibank and Kraft. Barry Kessel, who led Wunderman's global IBM account, will succeed Sable at the New York office.

“In two of the most difficult years in advertising history, David transformed his team into a vibrant, creative, 'anything-is-possible' force that was instrumental in winning business from key brands,” Wunderman chairman/CEO Daniel Morel said.

Sable said his focus will be to find new business.

“It's almost impossible not to be global today,” he said. “New business is really the critical issue for us. I'll be going out and finding new, new business while helping our current clients find new business.”

Wunderman has 3,400 employees in more than 75 offices in 37 countries. Before joining Wunderman in 2000, Sable was with Young & Rubicam, Wunderman's parent company.
