Rural Letter Carriers’ Union members reject tentative contract

The U.S. Postal Service has been notified that the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association membership rejected the tentative contract agreement that the agency and NRLCA leadership reached on Dec. 8, 2006.

The parties will now meet to decide how to proceed.

The NRLCA represents approximately 66,000 career employees and 52,000 non-career employees who deliver mail to residences and businesses on rural delivery routes.

If it were ratified, the agreement would have run through Nov. 20, 2010.
