R.R. Donnelley Chief Set to Retire

William Davis, chairman, president and CEO of printing house R.R. Donnelley, said yesterday that he planned to retire as soon as the company names a replacement.

The company's board of directors is carrying out a search for Davis' successor, R.R. Donnelley said. Davis, 59, has been with the 139-year-old printer since 1997.

R.R. Donnelley credited Davis with transforming the company from a commercial printing firm into an integrated communications solutions provider. In a statement, Davis said that when he took the job he had planned to lead the company for five to seven years and then retire.

R.R. Donnelley, Chicago, has about 30,000 employees and 200 locations worldwide.
