Rockport names Hunt head of e-commerce

Kimberley Correia Hunt has been named head of e-commerce at Adidas-owned footwear brand The Rockport Co. Emmanuelle Accad, director of global PR and events at The Rockport Co. confirmed the hire to Direct Marketing News. Hunt will report to Tobias Reiss-Schmidt, VP of global retail at Rockport, effective Oct. 11.

Hunt will be responsible for “developing a roadmap to make Rockport.com a stronger representation of our brand and presenting the product in an appealing way, while creating an optimal shopping and user experience for our consumers,” Accad said.

Her short-term mission will be to assess Rockport’s current e-commerce strategy and develop the appropriate team and infrastructure to support it, said Accad. It is immediately unclear how many people Hunt will manage.

Hunt will also be responsible for Rockport.com’s global website relaunch. It is unclear when that rollout will be complete.

The company generated $343 million in net sales in 2010, according to an Adidas financial statement.

Hunt most recently served as head of e-commerce at U.K.-based Radley & Co where she started in May of last year. Prior to her time with Radley, she held managerial roles at Marks & Spencer Direct and QAS, an Experian company. At Rockport, she replaces Peter Shea, who left the company in June. He currently serves as director of digital strategy at e-commerce strategic consulting firm Tank Design.

Rockport relaunched its e-commerce site in December after replacing platform-provider GSI Commerce with Demandware.
