RMH Teleservices to Open New Call Center

RMH Teleservices Inc. plans to open a new call center in Surrey, British Columbia., in May.

The 60,000-square-foot facility will be capable of hosting 400 workstations initially, with later expansion possible. Bryn Mawr, PA-based RMH will hire several multilingual agents to work at the center, which will provide employment for up to 1,000 people.

After the call center's completion, RMH will own eight facilities in Canada, two in British Columbia. The company said Canada would be its primary focus of expansion in the future.

In other call center news:

Waterfield Mortgage Corp., Fort Wayne, IN, will build a 40,000-square-foot addition to its headquarters for a telesales and mortgage-processing center to serve its fulfillment group.

The expansion is expected to lead to the creation of 200 jobs in the Fort Wayne area. Waterfield said it would begin filling open positions during the first quarter of this year. The company estimated that the facility would be operational in July.

Waterfield received assistance from local economic-development authorities for the construction of the facility.

Call-Solutions Inc., has entered into a joint agreement with the Victorious Church of Jesus Christ in Camp Spring, MD, to open an inbound and outbound call center at the church headquarters.

The call center will market vacation packages developed by Call-Solutions.

The Atlanta-based company also formed a joint agreement with Inter-Sat Communications Ltd. for use of a contact center in Montego Bay, Jamaica. That center will be used for outsourced direct marketing campaigns by Call-Solutions clients.

Medical Services International, Edmonton, Alberta, will expand its call center operations, run by Teltek International in the British West Indies, by 270 seats.

Medical Services owns 40 percent of Teltek and has negotiated an agreement to increase its ownership by 55 percent. The expansion will bring the number of seats in the call center to 400, Medical Services said. The new seats are expected to produce an additional $5 million of revenue per year, raising the facility's annual revenue to $9.6 million, according to financial projections.

Teltek provides outbound telemarketing services for major corporations in the financial and telecommunications industries as well as direct-response inbound services for home-shopping marketers, Medical Services said.
