Ridge to Speak at Postal Forum

Tom Ridge, the nation's first secretary of homeland security, will be a headline speaker at the 2005 National Postal Forum on March 23 in Nashville, TN, the U.S. Postal Service said Feb. 3.

Ridge, the former Pennsylvania governor who oversaw the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, will discuss his experiences while at the department and the relationship he developed with the USPS.

“This will be one of Secretary Ridge's first public addresses since he left the department,” Postmaster General John Potter said. “This will be a rare opportunity to learn his views of the state of national security and the role the postal service and the mail play in this arena.”

He will speak during the Wednesday general session luncheon of the March 20-23 NPF. Registration and additional information are available at http://www.npf.org.
