Yellow pages publisher R.H. Donnelley will slash 190 jobs at two locations as part of a company-wide consolidation connected to its acquisition of Sprint Publishing and Advertising in January.
The company will close its Blountville, TN, facility as part of its move to consolidate publishing operations into its facility in Raleigh, NC. The consolidation is expected to take six to nine months.
R.H. Donnelley will maintain a presence in the Blountville area by continuing its customer service, white pages production and graphics operations in nearby Bristol, TN. Of the 235 jobs provided by the company in the Blountville/Bristol area, 110 will be cut.
The company also will trim about 80 positions in human resources, finance, IT, billing and collection and publishing services as part of its consolidation of corporate functions at its Overland Park, KS, location and Purchase, NY, headquarters.
