Register Puts Regional Shops to Work

Document manager Standard Register, Dayton, OH, has increased its on-demand Stanfast print centers to 35 nationwide and recently made use of them by printing 400,000 personalized direct mail packages for customers of United Parcel Service.

The packages, which included personal customer letters and color-coded U.S. maps indicating delivery schedules for each recipient's city, were done for the announcement of UPS's Day Specific Ground Delivery Guarantee. Standard Register claims this project is the first one-to-one direct marketing program of this size ever implemented.

Standard Register personalized and targeted each message and map using Web and database technologies tied to digital color printers. It specializes in producing on-demand brochures, direct mail, catalogs and instructional manuals for the healthcare, financial and general business markets.
