RedSail Media, a PRIMIS company, acquired GetRelevant from Lycos Inc.
San Francisco-based GetRelevant was an early pioneer of Internet co-registration and online lead generation. The business will operate under the RedSail Media name.
Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
RedSail media said the acquisition brings an extensive client base, affiliate network and experienced team to RedSail, and is the company’s latest step in its expansion. RedSail Media’s online lead generation network helps advertisers source high quality prospects by engaging and monetizing the audiences of premier Web site partners.
Founded in 2003 as CogReg 360, Norwalk, CT-based RedSail Media is a member of the PRIMIS Marketing Group, which is based in Chicago.
GetRelevant was founded in June 1999 and was acquired by Waltham, MA-based Lycos in October 2002. Lycos operates search and technology Web sites that foster online communities, including the new Lycos Cinema, which combines community with high-quality broadband video content.
Lycos is a wholly owned subsidiary of Daum Communications Corp. (www.daum.net), an Internet portal and e-commerce destination in Seoul, South Korea, with a growing presence throughout the Asian markets.
