Randall Rothenberg is new IAB CEO

The Interactive Advertising Bureau, a New York-based trade association for the interactive advertising industry, Dec. 5 announced the appointment of Randall Rothenberg as president/CEO.

Mr. Rothenberg’s term will begin Jan. 8. He replaces Greg Stuart, who announced his year-end departure in August.

Under Mr. Stuart’s watch at the IAB, the interactive industry went from $6 billion to $16 billion in annual advertising revenue. He recently joined the board of directors at ad network Adify Corp., San Bruno, CA.

Mr. Rothenburg plans to contribute to the IAB’s mission of building the interactive marketplace and addressing the most important priorities, challenges and opportunities that confront the industry.

In particular, he expects to see marketers use interactive platforms such as video, search and mobile to create deeper and broader relationships with their customers.

Mr. Rothenberg joins the IAB from strategy and consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was most recently senior director of intellectual capital.

During his seven years at Booz Allen, Mr. Rothenberg also served as the firm’s chief marketing officer and as editor in chief of its management journal, strategy+business.

Mr. Rothenberg has been an editor at large for Advertising Age magazine. His other editorial positions have included various roles at The New York Times, Wired, Esquire and Bloomberg Business News.
