Quebecor World Inc. yesterday said that it bought the European printing assets of Hachette Filipacchi Medias for roughly $400 million.
The assets include printing and bindery facilities in France and Hachette's 50 percent ownership of Belgium printer Helio Charleroi. Under the deal, French firm Compagnie Nationale a Portefeuille will continue its 50 percent possession of Helio Charleroi for the next three years.
Hachette Filipacchi Medias publishes 210 magazine titles in 34 countries, including Paris Match, Elle, Parents, Tele 7 Jours and TV Hebdo.
Meanwhile, the transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
