Pulse Upgrades Audio by Buying Sonicopia

Rich media firm Pulse Entertainment is expected to announce today that it has bought Sonicopia, an Internet audio company.

Terms of the acquisition were not released.

The purchase will upgrade Pulse’s 3D technology so its clients’ viewers will be able to listen to animated characters without having to download the company’s media player. The audio tracks will now be embedded in a site using the technology.

San Francisco-based Pulse also expects to introduce the technology service WebMaestro this August. The service, which will be marketed to consumers and businesses, will allow people to embed sounds at their sites.

Pulse has yet to determine pricing for the upcoming service.
