Providian Financial signed a marketing agreement with AllAdvantage, an Internet infomediary that delivers direct marketing offers to its members based on data they provide about themselves.
Providian, San Francisco, will promote its Aria Visa card, which the bank developed last year specifically for promotion via the Internet. The card offers online credit approval, online balance transfers, Internet-based customer service and an expansive online rewards program. Providian offers four versions of the card based on applicants' online profiles.
Terms of the deal, announced this month by Providian, were not disclosed.
AllAdvantage and Providian said their alliance would let AllAdvantage integrate a credit card with other targeted merchant promotions.
