Profit, Net Sales Up at infoUSA

Database marketing services provider infoUSA, Omaha, NE, reported a 38.9 percent increase in third-quarter 2004 profit, totaling $5 million versus $3.6 million last year, while net sales rose 16.5 percent to $90.2 million from $77.4 million, according to the company's earnings report released last week.

The company also reported operating income of $10.7 million, up from $9.7 million last year.

InfoUSA's Donnelley Group, which includes Donnelley Marketing, Walter Karl, Edith Roman, Yesmail, OneSource and Triplex, reported third-quarter 2004 revenue of $57.4 million, up 45 percent from last year. InfoUSA said this revenue growth resulted from the acquisition of Edith Roman Associates, OneSource Information Services Inc. and Triplex Direct Marketing Corp.

The infoUSA Group, which offers directory products, vertical industry databases, online mailing lists, marketing leads and retail consumer products, reported third-quarter revenue of $32.8 million, down 13 percent from last year. As was the case in the second quarter, the firm said an effort to migrate customers of these businesses to subscription products from one-time sales caused a short-term revenue reduction.
