Prodege incentivizes search for music fans

As the music industry searches for new ways to create revenue, Prodege has created interactive search pages for music artists to directly target fans and create revenue at the same time.

Prodege connects musicians, record labels, brands and nonprofit organizations with fans through its custom-incentivized Search Win Merch pages. Fans that use these branded search pages are automatically entered to win promotional prizes offered by the firm using the page. Labels and artists can sell products directly on these sites, as well as share in revenue through ad-supported links.

“The way we look at it is, you’re going to do a search, you might as well do it on a page with your favorite band,” said Scott Dudelson, CEO of Prodege, Los Angeles. “This is perfect for a lot of bands and labels who are looking for ways to brand themselves and for ad revenue streams.”

The searches work like normal searches. They are connected on the back end to major search engines like Yahoo and Google and entered in a promotion. For example, searchers on the Shinedown page can win a private listening party at the band’s recording session.

The first person to search after the randomly selected time wins a prize instantly. Prize winners are asked for e-mail address at the time of the win and arrangements are made to send the prize within two weeks of the search. No registration is required.

Consumers are limited to 20 qualifying searches per day and clicking on search results or sponsored links will not increase your chances of winning. Each household is limited to two prizes per month. While sweepstake entries are unlimited, meaning that the more a consumer searches, the more likely they are to win.
