Procter & Gamble appoints digital marketing exec

Consumer packaged goods company Procter & Gamble (P&G) has named Ilonka Laviz its marketing director of digital, brand-building strategy and e-commerce, confirmed Tonia Elrod, associate director of external relations at P&G, via email. She said Laviz will transition into this role by the end of June.

Laviz will be responsible for “driving P&G’s digital brand-building strategy and expertise,” Elrod said.

As originally reported by Advertising Age, Laviz replaces Lucas Watson who will become marketing director of P&G’s personal healthcare global business division. Elrod said Watson’s move is “typical” for P&G.

“P&G typically moves employees to new assignments throughout their career,” she said.

Laviz, a 16-year P&G veteran, previously served as associate marketing director for the company’s Always brand. She will report to Marc Pritchard, CMO and brand-building officer, and Alex Tosolini, VP of e-commerce. Brand managers in P&G’s digital brand-building and e-commerce divisions will report directly to Laviz.
