PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Arlington, VA, the world's largest professional services organization, and Westville, OH-based SchoolMatch, a premier school database provider, yesterday formed a strategic alliance to offer a broad array of management consulting and information services to U.S. elementary and secondary schools.
As part of the alliance, PricewaterhouseCoopers' K-12 education management consulting practice will work with SchoolMatch's education research and data group to assist governing boards and administrators in reform efforts in the country's 15,660 public school districts and 14,000 accredited private schools.
School districts frequently want to know how effective they are when compared to other districts with similar demographic and socioeconomic student populations. The alliance between PricewaterhouseCoopers and
SchoolMatch will help provide enhanced management and information services to schools across the nation to address these and other issues.
SchoolMatch databases contain critical information on every public school district and accredited private school in the United States, including enrollment statistics, performance measures, and budget data. PricewaterhouseCoopers' K-12 education practice provides management consulting services to local school boards and states to help them improve financial, personnel, instructional, food service, transportation, purchasing, and maintenance operations. The goal of the alliance is to help local school districts, state departments of education, and other education providers benchmark and improve their performance, the companies said.
