Prefer Network Debuts Rental Database

The original version of this story said the P2 list rental database was derived from 500 catalogs. The correct number of catalogs is 43.

Prefer Network said Friday it launched P2, a list rental database of 18 million names derived from the company’s cooperative catalog database.

P2 contains the last 12-month multi-buyers list from 43 catalog titles and is available only to non-catalog marketers such as financial services, publishing and nonprofit mailers. While these types of mailers cannot join the Prefer Network database, they can now access its names for prospecting.

“This is one of the best ways for us to help our clients meet their aggressive acquisition goals in 2005 and beyond,” Adrea Rubin, CEO of list brokerage and management firm Adrea Rubin Marketing Inc., New York, said in a statement. “Getting access to Prefer Network’s database with detailed buying characteristics is much more valuable to us than a single list,” she said.

Prefer Network, New York, is a division of CMS Direct, St. Paul, MN. The Prefer Network cooperative database has more than 117 million households and offers transactional data down to the SKU-level.
