Planting hope for sunnier direct mail

This summer I’ll be making my latest attempt at growing potted plants in my sunshine-challenged NYC apartment — and thanks to the US Postal Service I’ve already got the seeds. In its recent campaign to promote the Summer Sale to customers, the agency sent an adorable four-fold mail piece depicting a growing sunflower and time line of the key dates for the rebate on postage.

The entire piece conveys the very optimism and encouragement that the Summer Sale was grounded upon. Not too mention it provides a small packet of seeds for mailers with a personalized call-to-action and appropriate contact person. The mailer was a very fun way to create a visual reminder about the new program and it’s hard to ignore such a sunny, summery outlook on postal mail’s future.
