PlanetHopper Offers Timely, Targeted Deals Via Wireless

PlanetHopper Inc. recently opened its new Digital Deal Web site, which promises to empower the wireless business industry in a way not seen before.

PlanetHopper founder and president Rachael Barenbaum said Planethopper.com would allow entertainment and service industry businesses to target consumers with news about promotions or deals in which they expressed an interest.

For example, a New York Knicks fan could sign on to be informed about the availability of tickets for an upcoming game. If tickets become available at 4 p.m. on game day for the otherwise sold-out event, the service user would be informed via wireless platform about the development.

“PlanetHopper recognizes that timing is everything in the entertainment and services industries,” Barenbaum said. “Businesses now have push-button control over their inventory and promotions through this system.”

Barenbaum explained that service subscribers would have the option of running long-term promotional campaigns or trumpeting last-minute deals. Subscribing business owners would be given access to a network that would allow the owner to go online and instantly post news of their promotions.

“Digital deals are next-generation coupons, instantly available, wireless and scalable,” Barenbaum said.

The New York-based company is already close to finalizing deals with such big-name operations as Atlantic Records, New Line Cinema and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays baseball team, Barenbaum said.
