Pitney Bowes Inc., a mailstream solutions company, is offering its Constant Connection service for its DM Series 300, 400 and 450 Digital Mailing Systems.
The service allows customers to link to Pitney Bowes’ server through their local area connection for around-the-clock access to confirmation services, electronic return receipt transactions, software upgrades and USPS postage rate changes.
“Constant Connection is the latest enhancement to the Pitney Bowes DM Series Mailing Systems with IntelliLink technology,” said Jeff Platt, d irector of product marketing at Pitney Bowes Global Mailstream Solutions. “IntelliLink technology provides customers with a digital gateway to the latest in Pitney Bowes mailstream management innovation.”
The services lets customers download postal rates when rates change, refill postage, updating mailing system software and enable new features and services remotely, such as envelope ads, postal inscriptions and e-Return Receipt for Certified Mail. Customers can also transmit USPS Extra Services transaction information to the USPS like Delivery Confirmation, Signature Confirmation and e-Return Receipt for Certified Mail.
“As Pitney Bowes continues to enhance the value of IntelliLink, Constant Connection will provide the connectivity necessary to meet the needs of the customer,” Platt said. “The current analog modem used on digital mailing systems requires access to a telephone line, which is a challenge in some situations like all digital buildings, sharing a telephone line with a fax machine, incurring the cost of installing an analog line, or having to move the mailing system to get closer to the telephone line when a connection is required.”
Pitney Bowes claims that Constant Connection provides a faster connection, which is especially helpful when updating postal rates, updating software, or transmitting USPS Extra Services transactions.
Constant Connection is an option for all new and existing DM500, DM550, DM800, DM900 and DM1000 systems. Constant Connection can be added to existing systems, as well as added to new orders.
