Pitney Bowes Debuts Mail-Management Software

Pitney Bowes Inc., Stamford, CT, introduced mail-management software yesterday designed to offer enhanced address database functions and the ability to send combined mailings while eliminating duplicate and undeliverable addresses.

With SmartMailer 7.0, subscribing customers receive USPS National Database updates six times yearly. The software also can correct addresses and ZIP+4 codes, and convert addresses to the standard format recommended by the U.S. Postal Service for automated handling.

A feature called Duplicate Detection finds duplicate names and addresses and flags them for the mailer to delete, eliminating unnecessary and costly mailings. SmartMailer 7.0 also has access to every deliverable address range in the United States.

SmartMailer 7.0 also offers various presort methods approved by the USPS for discounts.

An alternative user interface has been introduced, geared for novice users.
