Pitney Bowes Completes Acquisition of Danka

Pitney Bowes Inc., Stamford, CT, has completed its acquisition of Danka Services International from Danka Business Systems PLC for $290 million in cash.

The acquisition brings Pitney Bowes' Management Services division additional expertise and enhances its international market share in the $30 billion integrated mail and document management industry, according to Pitney Bowes.

The acquisition adds new capabilities to PBMS' product and service offerings, including its on- and off-site document management services, management of central reprographics departments, management of photocopier and facsimile network placements, print-on-demand operations, and document archiving and retrieval services.

The combined companies now have a presence at more than 1,300 customer sites and employ more than 16,000 people in Europe and North America, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands and Belgium.

DSI operations will be incorporated under the Pitney Bowes Management Services name. In addition, PBMS is realigning its internal operations reporting structure to meet the needs of the expanded organization better both domestically and internationally.

Ray Parker becomes president of international operations, based in the United Kingdom; Randy Miller becomes president of the Enterprise Operations Group; and Kevin Connolly becomes president of North American operations.
