Pep Boys CMO Ron Stoupa has stepped into the same role at Sports Authority, the retailer reported today.
Stoupa directed marketing efforts for the automotive aftermarket chain for almost six years, the last two as CMO. Before that, he was director of marketing for Bass Pro Shops and spent six years in marketing positions for ConAgra Foods.
“Ron has more than 20 years of experience leading marketing strategies across a variety of retail industries,” said Sports Authority CEO Michael E. Foss in announcing the appointment of Stoupa, who also assumes the title of EVP at the retailer. “This extensive professional experience allows for a unique analytical and creative marketing perspective.”
At Pep Boys, Stoupa led the repositioning of a brand that had been in place more than 90 years, directing strategy, CRM, and creative.
