People en Espanol Ups Rate Base to 450,000

People en Espanol raised its circulation rate base from 425,000 to 450,000 with its February issue, cementing its status as the No. 1 Hispanic magazine in the United States.

The new guarantee to advertisers comes after the 7-year-old Spanish-language entertainment monthly registered a 20.6 percent growth in ad pages from August to December compared with the same period in 2003.

Ad pages in the September, October and December issues rose 27.7 percent, 33.8 percent and 16.1 percent, respectively. The magazine was up 9.3 percent in total ad pages in 2004 versus 2003.

Also, newsstand sales are up 10 percent year-over-year.
