Pensabene, Ram Form Direct Response Agency

Direct response media veterans Susan Pensabene and Mary Ram founded DRM Partners Inc. to meet the needs of direct marketers.

The Hoboken, NJ-based agency specializes in the planning, placement and management of direct response television, radio and print media. Other agency capabilities include per-inquiry and Hispanic DRTV media management.

Pensabene brings more than 30 years of direct response experience to DRM Partners. She began her career at Wunderman in 1973 where she helped form the nation's first full-time direct response television agency. From Wunderman, Pensabene joined Rapp & Collins to launch its media department. She later headed the broadcast media division of Grey Direct.

In the late 1980s, Pensabene established her own agency called Shain, Colavito, Pensabene, which was sold to Omnicom Group in 1995 and folded into the media department at Rapp Collins.

Ram's direct response media career began in the mid 1980s at A. Eicoff in Chicago where she was broadcast buyer, then account supervisor. She went on to direct the launch of Time-Life's in-house media buying group in Alexandria, VA.

Following that, Ram was broadcast director at SCP/Rapp Collins. She was also senior vice president and director of client services at Interpublic Group of Companies Inc.’s ID Media, the agency that combined Media Direct Partners, Western Direct, True North and Draft Direct.
