Pam Larrick Becomes FCBi Worldwide Chairman/CEO

Foote Cone & Belding named Pam Maphis Larrick to the newly-created post of worldwide chairman/CEO of its FCBi Worldwide direct, interactive and customer relationship marketing unit.

Larrick previously was New York-based chairman of MRM Partners Worldwide, McCann Worldgroup's CRM arm. She will oversee 38 FCBi offices in 28 countries, managing accounts like Hewlett-Packard Co., Gevalia, MetLife, Qwest and the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

“The mandate really is to build on what's there and to articulate in a very clear and forceful way what the capabilities of FCBi are and how we can bring them to our current and new clients around the world,” she said.

MRM has not announced a successor to Larrick.

Her move, while across agency brands, is within the same family. McCann and FCB are part of New York-based Interpublic Group of Companies Inc., one of the world's largest agency holding firms.

A longtime direct marketing veteran, Larrick started her agency career at Ogilvy & Mather Direct in 1978. She became general manager of the New York office in 1992.

Two years later Larrick joined McCann Direct, now MRM. She became president/CEO in 2001. She relinquished those posts to Digitas executive Reuben Hendell in August for the post of worldwide chairman of MRM.

Her 10-year stint at MRM saw the agency's worldwide billings rise tenfold to more than $1 billion. Over the years and across agencies, Larrick worked on accounts like Microsoft, Nestle, General Motors Corp., United Parcel Service, AT&T Corp. and Johnson & Johnson.

Along with her job at Ogilvy & Mather Direct, she was special consultant for communications in 1991 to West Virginia Gov. Gaston Caperton. Prior to her agency life, Larrick was a producer at Channel 44, a PBS channel in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Larrick will report to FCB chairman Brendan Ryan. FCB and Ryan recently became familiar with Larrick on Interpublic's bid to retain the Samsung account. Larrick was the Interpublic team leader for the direct and interactive marketing efforts, leading both FCBi and MRM. Interpublic lost the Samsung business, but Larrick's hard work was noticed.

Her task at FCBi is to accentuate the agency's capabilities in direct mail, digital marketing and data management.
