Global Commerce & Communication, St. Cloud, MN, yesterday debuted NewIdeaTrade.com, a free online forum for trading intellectual property, including industrial and copyrighted property. The site, which will be supported by advertising, is designed to provide a central registry for small businesses, individuals, universities, government agencies, research institutions and investors.
Users must register to participate, but there are no membership fees. The site will post industrial property, including inventions, trademarks and patents. Members also will have the ability to post copyrighted works, including literary and audiovisual materials, for sale or license. In addition to acting as a conduit for sellers and buyers of intellectual property, the site will support a professional directory and resource center for its members.
